We do hope that the information on our web site will be thought provoking enough to inspire you into becoming a friend of our Organisation and help us in some way.

Firstly I would like to inform you of our reasons and why we were inspired to set up this Organisation.

Our focus is on The Gambia for those that are unaware, this small country is situated in the Sub-Saharan West Coast of Africa, its population is circa 1.5 million and has a landmass of only 11,300 Sq kilometers.

The Gambia has no important mineral or other natural resources and has a limited agricultural base and unemployment and underemployment rates are extremely high.

Short run economic progress remains highly dependent on sustained bilateral and multilateral aid.

Nearly 60 %of the population still falls below the overall poverty line and 50 % below the food poverty line, in other words 50% of the population are attempting to survive on less than 50 pence per day.

Most households particularly in rural areas depend on a community well for their drinking water and on pit latrines for sanitary purposes.
Most poor households do not have electricity; they rely on cheap candles to give themselves light!

Each year there are some 300-500 million cases of Malaria in Africa, which kills over 1 million annually; the majority are children and 90% of cases are in Africa’s South Sahara region.
